I just recently joined this list so am not familiar with previous correspondence. I have been researching the Hayes / Hays family and have traced it back to Liverpool.
Our Jonathan Hayes II was born in Liverpool on Jan. 11,1685. We think he might have been a ships Captain in the Navy. He came to America and landed at Philadelphia about 1715. He stayed in the Philadelphia area and subsequently married Elizabeth Elliot. This marriage produced 12 sons and 2 daughters.
His father Jonathan Hayes I lived in Liverpool and was born about 1665. He apparently was a meat merchant or a butcher in Liverpool. While I have alot of information on descendants of Jonathan II this is all I know of his ancestors. I was hoping to find someone else that was researching this Hayes family and could share some information.
