It has taken a couple of years, but I think I have found my EARWAKER
connection. I have already written to Maureen Luxton who very kindly
sent me some information. However, we are still left with questions and
I wondered if there is anyone on the list who may be related to
EARWAKERs from Tillington or Petworth in Sussex. However, I have
archived all the EARWAKER emails and already scoured them for possible
relatives!

Here's my connection -
Henry EARWAKER b: c 1835 (and may have had 1 or 2 previous marriages), a
carpenter known to have lived in Tillington prior to his marriage to
Elizabeth SOAN October 12, 1780 at Petworth, Sussex. (OR the Henry who
married Elizabeth SOAN may have been the son of a Henry EARWAKER!) Their
daughter, Elizabeth EARWAKER b: 1781 m: William DREWETT July 18, 1801.
Elizabeth & William had children born in Petworth and Epsom. Their
daughter b: 1818 in Epsom was Elizabeth EARWAKER DREWETT (birth record
from IGI) was my g-g-grandmother she married James John SMITH a butcher
in Camberwell. On my g-grandmother's birth certificate her mother is
listed as Elizabeth EARWAKER SMITH formerly DREWETT.

All this gets very confusing and as I am still relatively new to the
hunt I still do not know how to go about proving people born before
1837!
