Hello Listers and Jackie.
Re the query about John Andrews.
A John Andrews of West Meon, a butcher, left a will reference 1710P02, in 1710. I have not got a copy but it mentions land at Privett.
The 1685 marriage was by licence, I don't know whether it has survived but one that is in the index I hold is for a Richard Andrews of West Meon, a butcher and Lucy Froggett also of West Meon issued 17111722. He is likely to be a son of John Andrews
In 1700 John Andrews was a churchwarden at West Meon.
The Manorial records for Westbury Manor at West Meon at H.R.O. reference 86M81/289 mentions Mary the heir of Thomas Earwaker and cousin of John Andrews.
I hope this helps.
Rod Whale, Andover.
