Hi Nick,
Well, thank you for that information and you have indeed confirmed we have
the correct plot for these EARWAKER's. Seeing as it is an un-marked grave
it does seem rather pointless to photograph it, but if you ever have a spare
minute.........
Interesting comments from Theo - always nice to get an inside story, I hope
it was a pleasant two hours for you.
I have 'found' Thomas Wassal, Ethel and Mary Lily EARWAKER on the Victorian
Electoral Roll 1903 (fiche 063) and again in 1908 (fiche 087) put out by
SLV, in the Division of INDI, Sub-division of Wangaratta, both times all are
living at Norton Street, Wangaratta. Thomas' occupation listed as
carpenter, while Ethel and Mary Lilly listed as home duties.

Yvonne,
(and anyone on the EARWKER list with an interest.)
I took the opportunity to "duck" into the Burwood Cemetery
(Victoria, Australia) this afternoon, even though I did not have my
camera with me.
Two hours later (!) I can report to you that Presb. Section A, Plot
10K is an unmarked plot.
I have confirmed that this is the correct plot for
Thomas Earwaker
Ethel Earwaker
Mary Lili Earwaker
as detailed in your email of 13 September, via the EARWAKER
list.
(It is spelt "Lili" on their computer index.)
There are only three (3) Earwaker entries on their index. (I didn't
trouble him to look up other variants.)
With special thanks to groundsman "Theo" - who spent much of
that time pacing the paths with me, to reconcile the map (old) with
reality.
When I commented that the Cemetery Board had apparently been
entrepreneurial, in selling the original pathways as additional plots,
he added that the person responsible for that was now in prison as
a result of his liberal attitude toward public monies.
Would you like me to proceed with the photograph? (There's really
not much to see, but don't interpret that as me discouraging you --
I'll still gladly take a snap of it at my next opportunity.)
