Dear Irene

I am descendant from the Bussing family and send you the following information
quoted from the Genealogy of the Bussing Family as compiled by William K. Hall

of Springfield, Missouri, in 1950. It was referenced from the collection of
the New York State Library in Albany, (ref 929.2 qB 981)

second marriage took place March 31, 1678, in the Reformed Dutch Church in New
York (44 NYDR), and was to Eva Lubberts, born 1657, the daughter of Lubbert
Gerritszen and Grietje Dircks.

Children of Arent Harmans Bussing (1) and his first wife, Susannah
Delamater:
2. Pieter Bussing, born 1674, baptized April 28, 1674 (1114 NYDR), died
1737, married June 7, 1700 (92 NYDR), Rebecca Vermilyea.
3. Harman Bussing, (No. 1), born 1675, baptized November 17, 1675 (121
NYDR), died 1676.
4. Harman Bussing, (No. 2), born 1677, baptized March 12, 1677 (126 NYDR),
died July 29, 1762. He was a carman of New York. He is buried in the Dutch
Church Cemetery (see Year Book Holland Society, N.Y., 1899, p.153.). He
married January 27, 1707 (105 NYDR), Sarah Selover, died December 21, 1751 (or
1752). She was from Newcastle. She was the daughter of Isaac Selover and
Hester Leenda.

Children of Arent Harman Bussing (1) and his second wife, Eva Lubberts:
5. Dirck Bussing, born 1679, baptized January 24, 1680 (140 NYDR), died
young.
6. Margaret Bussing, born 1681, baptized march 15, 1681 (146 NYDR),
married about 1708, as his second wife, Lawrence Kortright, born 1681 in
Harlem, died 1726. He was the son of Cornelius Jansen Kortright and Metje
Eleysen.

NYDR), married November 15, 1718 (129 NYDR), as his first wife, Teunis de la
Montanye, born 1695, baptized July 24, 1695. He was the son of Abraham
Montanye and Rebecca Van Huyse.
11. John Bussing, born about 1697, died before 1732. He was a weaver (see
N.Y. Hist. Soc. Abstract of Wills, Vol. 3, p. 68.). He married September 2,
1723 (139 NYDR), Metje Kortright, who died before June 20, 1732. She was the
daughter of Johannes Kortright and Wyntie Dyckman.
12. Maria Bussing, born about 1700, married September 17, 1722 (138 NYDR),
John Martinus Van Harlingen, born 1684, died 1768. He was a clerk at Harlem,
New York.

This should cover the period you were interested in. Arent Harmans Bussing
came from Bentheim in Westphalia to New Harlem. He was listed on the Dongan
patent as Arent Harmans. I am descended from Margaret Bussing and Laurence
Kortright and I am also a descendant of Glaude Le Maistre and Hester Du Bois,
for whom I also have information.

Hope this proves useful
