Hi all,

I guess this is my week to play on a tag-team with Lorine. :)

This Annetje is, I think, Anneke Jans, whose 2nd husband was Rev. Everardus
Bogardus. Catharina (Trijntje) Roelofs was the daughter of Anneke and her
first husband, Roelof Jansen.

William Bogardus in his book, _Dear "Cousin": A Charted Genealogy..._, shows
that Trijntje married first, Willem De Kay; second Lucas Rodenburg; and
third Johannes Pieterszen Van Brugh.

Mr. Bogardus shows the first Helen as dying young.

He shows the second Helen as marrying on 26 May 1680 Teunis De Kay; that
marriage can be found in the records of the NY RDC. So, it doesn't look as
if she married Pieter Bussing and had kids with him in 1679 - 1681.

Now let's talk about Pieter Bussing.
In the Collections of the New York Historical Society vol XXIV, 1894, I
found two interesting wills.
The first was the will of Altie Vermillie of Yonkers in Westchester Co.
dated 23 May 1730. She mentions her daughter Rebecca, wife of Peter Bussing.

Indeed, in the marriage records of the NY RDC I find that "Pieter Bussen
j.m. and Rebecca Fernielje j.d." both from N. Haerlam were married on 7 June
1700.

The second will was of Peter Bussing of Harlem dated 19 Feb 1733 and proved
27 July 1737. He mentions a wife, Rebecca, and sons: Aaron, Peter,
Abraham, and John (deceased). Also, daughters: Altje and Susanah.
He mentions land he owns in Harlem, Fordham, Yonkers, and Westchester.

Don't know if this is yours or not (or if so, which Peter); but he certainly
seems to have had ties to Westchester Co.

I did a quick check of the NY RDC records, but could find no baptisms for
any Bussing in the 1676 - 1685 time frame.

Since you said your Pieter [Sr] lived on Long Island, it might be worth
checking the new version of the Flatbush DRC records when they come out.

Regards,
Howard
