Well said Alison,

I agree totally. If we just write down the names of our ancestors but
neglect to find out more about their day including everyday things such as
language etc then we might as well not bother at all. I have really enjoyed
the last few days of postings on granny's sayings. It is important that we
remember that the people we are talking about are our families and not
merely lines on a page. The day I just write down names of my relatives and
do nothing to find out more about them and the times in which they were
living will be the day I stop researching my family tree.
