Dear Lists

I just know I am going to regret being a 'newcomer' to the lists but......I
have just helped a wonderful lady in Vermont find some ancestors because I
happened to have the 1851 census transcript of Kidderminster to hand. This
is an example of family historians producing information for the good of
others.

It occurs to me that there are lots of computer literate people like me out
there who only need a bit of education to get parish records 'on the web'.
Is there a group of people out there who would like to lead the rest of us in
filling the gaps in the IGI?

And, before you say it, I know what wonderful work Durham FHS has done and I
also know about Cleveland FHS (member of both!) but at least one of those is
not 'on line' and the GRO indexes still cost £24 per event (birth, death or
marriage) per year on fiche.

Do we have anyone who is prepared to teach the rest of us?

Best Regards

Virginia
