I don't think the case of TB was an isolated one. My ggrandmother died of
Phthisis (which according to the dictionary was TB) age 30 years in 1899. I
think the illness was very common in these times. I would be interested to
know of any medication used to try and help with this as I always thought
that the condition was largely untreatable.
