I am in Salt Lake City this week and have stumped the helpers at the Scandinavian desk.

I saw an occupation for a man called "Portikulier". We couldn't find it in any dictionary.

The word portcullis in English means a large iron or wooden gate across an alley or street. Going from that we think Portikulier might be some kind of gatekeeper.

Anyone know for sure?
