Hi Richard,

Peter Carl Jessen was a merchant (Kjøbmand = Købmand).

købmand(kolonialhandler) grocer;
(forretningsmand) businessman;
(grosserer) merchant;
(detaillist) shopkeeper,
(am) storekeeper;
[hos købmanden] at the grocer's.

Clara Nicoline Thørig was his wife. Laura Caroline Marie, Christian
Reinhard, Clara Emilie, and Bondo August Theodor were their children (Deres
Børn). Kirstine Nicoline and Carl Henrich Gottfried -- I don't know what
"Børn af omstaaende Kjøbmand Jessen" means. The family is in the 1840 and
1845 censuses as Jessen. And I can't tell if Silvia Christian v. Post is
related to anyone in this household.

There are a lot of Posts in Holbæk Amt, so Post is a legitimate name. I
searched at the DDD using % Post -- % for any first names and Post for last
name -- and quite a few came up. You might want to try that.
