Yes, my direct ancestors settled in the Upper Flat Area. We have been in
contact before. I have my direct Madsen line quite intact, except for
g-grandfather Mads Hansen who somehow disappeared from the scene. Family
tradition is "lost at sea". I'm still looking.
H.M.Madson was my uncle. His father, R.P.M. had a brother, HANS MADSEN, who
with wife CAROLINE LOUISE M. and children KIRSTINE age 1/2, and HANS PETER
age 03, emigrated about April 1878 with COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA as
destination. I have been trying to fill this gap. They were also from
Vester Ulslev on Lolland. We visited there a couple of years ago.
We recently moved from Iowa Maple Grove, MN to be near our children.
I visited the Upper Flat Church shortly before their special
Anniversary. I would be interested in knowing if a booklet was published at
that time.
