Thanks to all who have responded.

Jørgen Jensen (Westergaard?) was my ggg grandfather. I have put the
Westergaard in brackets with a question mark because it is probable that he
adopted the name Westergaard after he moved to København some time in the
late 1700's. He was 52 when he died in 1818 so he would probably have been
born about 1766. He married Hedevig Marie Bützow (born 27 August 1769,
Reerslev Sogn, Tune Herred, København Amt), her father died when she was 16
and her mother remarried in Reerslev Sogn when Hedevig was 20 so it is
probable that she was married in Reerslev Sogn but I have not yet checked.

The records at København Stadsarkiv give his birth place only as Jylland. An
assumption that he adopted his name from a farm called Westergaard in
Jylland gives a lot of possibilities. Krabsen lists 154 parishes in Jylland
with a place called Westergaard / Westergård / Vestergaard / Vestergård so I
am going to need all the help I can get!

He may have had brothers called Jens and Anders.

So any details of any Jørgen Jensen (Westergaard?) who could possibly fit
would be very much appreciated.
