Just to add to the information already forwarded below, I have had good luck
with the Danish Family Farm Association, and rather prompt. Their web site
listed below, yes is in English, which is most helpful. According to their
schedule, it appears they are only open one afternoon a week, but they wrote
that if they knew when we were coming for a visit they would make
arrangements to accommodate us. Will do that on our next trip!
Another help was: I knew the village my 2nd gr grandmother Ane Maria was
born in, so I went to "google" and put in that name, and found out that the
village has an Arkiv alsom and mail address listed.. I did send e-mail via
the web site, but didn't get a reply. Maybe I did it incorrectly, as the web
site is in Danish.
So then I wrote a letter with what information I had, and asked a couple
of questions. I got a letter in reply and they did give me the name of the
little village/area that Ane Maria was born, and other info. But the letter
took 2 months for the reply to come through, but writing was successful for
me. So patience is in order some time.

Marj & Ricky: Regarding Kargaard/ Kjargaard/ Kjærgaard (farm)

Have you tried contacting the Family Association Of Family Farms,
in Denmark, giving all possible spelling of the farm name? They may
be able to help you with information. Give them as much information
as you can, including some of the family names if you have them.
www.slægtsgaardsforeningen.dk-dsf-english.htm I wrote my e-mail
in English, and received one back in English.

Also, seek out the nearest History Association within the area of where
this farm is. They would probably have information on it.

Both of the above have helped me out with extensive information on the
Family Farm that my Grt.Grandparents had, including photos of the Farm
and a Family Photo, just recently. All I knew in the beginning, was where
the
farm was located, and the name.
