whether the elder Weiser was the actual leader of this movement is open to
question. It was not until six years later, 1729, that our Conrad journeys
to and settles on the Tulpehocken, establishing his permanent residence on a
plantation of almost a thousand acres about half a mile east of the present
town of Womelsdorf. His immediate family consisted of his wife and their
