Neat Things I've Read Lately:
What's New at LDS FamilySearch Online

DearREADERS,
I am THRILLED that the FHLCatalog is now searchable online! This is going to
save me hours of work at the FHC, not to mention the scheduling problems with
the local center's few computers.
The FamilySearch test site is located at:
http://www.familysearch.org/

Here are the direct quotes from the FamilySearch Online's WHAT'S NEW

-------------------------
"This What's New section is designed to inform you of any features that have
recently been added to FamilySearch Internet. It will also announce What's
Coming in the near future. If you have a question about a new feature, please
look in Frequently Asked Questions. If you do not find an answer, use
Feedback to submit your question.

--Through Custom Search you can beta test the Family History Library Catalog

--FamilySearch Internet has over 17,000 Collaboration lists. To help you find
a list more easily, we have split the alphabet bar into smaller sections.

--From Ancestor Search, you can do a last name only search. Before you were
required to enter at least a first and last name.

--You can now submit your GEDCOM files through Preserve Your Genealogy.

--Through Custom Search you can search the International Genealogical Index
for a specific event and year. Also, if you enter only the names of the
parents (full name of the father and at least the given name of the mother),
you can find all of their children.

--Through Custom Search you can search Ancestral File using any combination
of the following: birth year, christening year, marriage year, death year, or
Ancestral File number (AFN).
