Hi, Richard. I'm a relative of yours through the Romagosas. My, dad,
Freddy Romagosa, was a first cousin of Ernestina. His dad was Alfredo
Romagosa, brother of Ernesto. If you get interested in the genealogy of the
Romagosas, let me know. We now have it going back to 1070 in the South of
France (Languedoc). One of our ancestors, Ugo (Hugo) de Roumegouse (langue
d'oc version of Romagosa) , was Veguer (mayor) of Carcassone and Razes,
around 1172-77. His ancestors were witnesses to many accords so their
names appear in documents now stored in the archives of Montpellier. Ugo's
son, Guerau went to Catalunya and bought a property in Vallirana arround
1200 that is still in Romagosa hands. I've been in contact with Neche for
the last few years. She has an early version of the Romagosa information,
but that was before the Languedoc information surfaced. There is now a
book called "Can Romagosa de Begues" written by Vicente Medina that has all
this information. I don't know !
if anybody else in Neche's family is interested, bit if they are let me
