Good evening!

I'm Marina Girón, I live in Ponce, Puerto Rico, were I was born. For the
last two years, I have been looking for my ancestors, but I'm against a big
wall in reference of my Girón ancestors. My uncle's wife, used to say that
the Girón's came to PR from Cuba, but we haven't found any evidence of that.
The first time we found our grandfather Joaquin Girón Podesta was in a
Spanish Census dated 1836, who should have been born @ 1808. His parents
were José Girón González and Felipa de la Cruz Podesta Luna, but we have
found no evidence referring to them.
We also have cousins that went to live in Cuba in the early 1900's. As far
as we know, one of our cousins was Daniel and the other was Fernando.
Any info will be greatly appreciated!

Mi nombre es Marina Girón, y reisdo en Ponce, PR, mi ciudad de nacimiento.
Durante los últimos dos años, he estado buscando mis ancestros, pero me
encuentro frente a una gran muralla, en lo que se refiere a mi apellido
Girón. La esposa de mi tío, acostumbraba a decir que nuestros ancestros
habían venido a PR de Cuba, pero no hemos conseguido evidencia de ello.
Encontramos a nuestro bisabuelo, Joaquín Girón Podesta en un censo español
de 1836, y supuestamente nació @ 1808. Sus padres fueron José Girón
González y Felipa de la Cruz Podesta Luna, pero de ellos no hemos conseguido
ningún documento.
Tenemos también dos primos que se fueron a Cuba a principios de 1900's.
Según nos han dicho uno era Daniel y el otro Fernando.

Cualquier información será muy agradecida.

one who were in Ponce in the 1800's let me know!
