To add to Piñon's response....Palma Soriano is a small city in Oriente
province to the north of Santiago. The name comes from the legend or truth
that a man named Soriano had placed an image on a palm tree for lack of a
church and many people stopped by it to pray and eventually this meeting
place became a village.
