Dear Ed:
I lost the reference or link to the Spanish Military Records. I would also
like to know if the Cuban Municipal Archives keep records regarding the
recruitment of volunteers for the Spanish Army. Although my family have kept
the tradition that one of my great uncles, age 20 at the beginning of the war
died near Sancti Spiritus around the end of 1896, I sometimes wonder if
might have been a volunteer for the Spanish Army. His father was a civil
servant at the Town Hall, and ... who knows?... although his mother came from
"mambi" stock he might have been motivated to keep his father position. We
have seen many family sunder apart by war. I would rather have him as his
family regarded, a member of the Invasion forces opperating in Las Villas.
But I would like to check just to be sure.
If you know, as I am sure you do, how to reach the archives that keep the
records of the volunteers, would you be so kind as to share them with me?
Thanks Marta C De Cardenas
