It helped me a lot. I was able to trace family to exact place in Canarias
due to my father's baptism certificate. It took a long time to receive it,
almost a year, and I kept calling and everytime they will give a different
answer or different time frame but I got his fingerprints, copy of his
birthcertificate, copy of original baptism certificate, the paper he filled
out to become an american citizen, etc. to me it was an emotional experience
and very worth it.
