Hello Cecilia:
You are right, Maternidad Obrera was a newer hospital in El Vedado,
west towards Almendares. That makes 6 major hospitals on the list of
hospitals in La Habana city alone!
Rebecca, my father mentions that hospital records, if available may offer
too little information for genealogical purpose--he suggests writing instead
to the "Registro Civil" of the locality your family lived in, i.e. Registro
Civil
del Vedado, etc.
