I've just joined this list and apologize for asking what is probably a
very "newbie" question. Are the Spanish Colonial archives online? One of
the lines I am researching was hired by Gov. Galvez as a surveyor for a
number of districts in what is now Louisiana-- New Iberia, Opelosas,
Attapakas. It's my understanding that the majority of the records are
housed in Cuba and Seville.
Any help in tracking this information down, would be very much
appreciated. There was a good bit of travel and contact back and forth
between the BERWICK and WALLIS (WALLACE) families between the years 1752
(Pensacola area) and 1768-1800.
Thank you,
Catharine Vinson
