I am looking for information on my great grandfather, MANUEL DE JESÚS VÉLEZ
y SOLÍS (born 19 July 1855 in Havana and died 29 July 1892 in Havana). He
married REGLA PETIT (born 19 July 1855 and died 30 September 1892) on 27
February 1882 at Iglesia de San Nícolas de Bari, Havana, Cuba. He was
baptized in 1855 at Iglesia de Jesús del Monte. His God Parents were
Enrique Solís and Jacoba Valdes. Both were buried at Cementerio de Colón.
They had seven children amongst them my grandmother, AMELIA VIRGINIA
VÉLEZ-PETIT ( b. 07 January 1884, Casa #8, Calle de la Carcel, Havana, Cuba
and d. San José, Costa Rica). Six brothers went on the 8 December 1896 to
live with relatives in New York. My grandmother was at an uncle’s, José La
Calle (composer of the song Amapola) house. I will like to find data on her
brothers, where did these Solis, Vélez and Petit come from?
