Hi Pat,
Anna tells me that "Hullo, how are you?" translates as "Dydh da, Fatla
genes?"
That is pronounced something like this:
"Dith dah, Fat-la-gennis?" noting that the 'la' has a 'short' 'a' and the
'g' is a hard sound as in 'gun'.
As for making the rafters ring with your Welsh service... that must have
been wonderful, but it may not be so easy at Gwennap Pit which has a
distinct lack of rafters<VBG>.
