Gordon may have helped to find the solution to Diane's problem but, from my
researches into my own family I offer two other possibilities:
IGI is an error and christening should be April 17 1839 not 1836,
(I have now seen a note from Kathleen which supports this possibility), OR
there were two daughters of the same name, one having died in infancy and the
parents used the same name for the next one. I know it sounds odd but I have
found it several times in my family.
What do the more experienced amongst you listers think?

Hi all,
I am having a problem with my Great great grandmother. She was born in
Cornwall. On her death certificate there is a birth date of January 20, 1838.
She died in California. On the 1850 census she is listed as 12 years old.
She was in Wisconsin with her mother.
Her parents were Thomas Moyle and Elizabeth Kemp. I found on the IGI a Jane
Moyle with parents Thomas Moyle and Elizabeth Kemp but she was christened
April 17, 1836.
How do I settle this?
