The Dawson Family History Project is a non-profit volunteer driven project
dedicated to the sharing, leveraging and discovery of genealogical information
that increases the body of knowledge about our Dawson ancestors. The project's
website is located at http://www.glbalserve.net/~dawson
While the project is still in its formative stage there is a growing amount of
information available in the form of census indexes, marriage and death records,
as well as military service information. All this information has been supplied
by volunteers who have taken on mini-projects that are meant to help other
researchers be better able to focus their own investigations.
The first phase of the project is focused on collecting and providing
information which will help point the Dawson researcher in helpful directions.
The information contained in the site has references to one of more Dawsons in
it. The site does not contain as yet information regarding specific family
groups or individuals, although the researcher profiles do contain abstracts of
the people and areas of interest of the various project researchers.
If you are researching Dawson family members and am not aware of the project I
encourage you to look over the site. If you can supply information that you
have gleaned from your own information that may be of use to others please drop
the project a note with the information. If you can take on a 'mini-project'
and can supply information that can also be added to the body of knowledge
please do so, it will be greatly appreciated.
Once again the site is located at http://www.glbalserve.net/~dawson . Any and
all constructive comments are welcome. My goal is to make the site as useful
and relevant as possible to those researching the Dawson name.
Thank you for your time.
