This is the only St. Joseph's I find in that area - don't know if it's the one you're looking for or not - Peru is approximately 2.1 miles from
LaSalle.

Try this website - maybe someone there can help you:

Good luck!

Several of my husband's family were married at a church in LaSalle, LaSalle
County, Illinois in the early 1900's. The name of the church was St.
Joseph's Catholic Church.

Does anyone know if this church is still open or if closed, where I might
send for records?

As I live in New Zealand any help given would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
This was only one St. Joseph Church listed for LaSalle, Illinois. I found
Peru, Illinois to be a suburb (adjoining community) to LaSalle.

Address: 1925-5th. St.; Peru IL 61354
Phone: (815) 223-0718
Directions: Rte. 80 S to Rte. 251 to Rte. 5. Turn Right on Rte. 6 to
Schuyler St. Go right one block to Church.

A good site for finding parishes is http://www.masstimes.org/ . Just click
on the "Mass Time by Cities"

You can map the address here:

Subject: [CATHOLIC] Fr.Charles Maguire

I'm trying to find information on my first cousin, Fr. Charles Maguire, who
was born in Ireland and went to Australia (probably Sydney) in the 1920's
as
a young priest, . He was selected to be a bishop but died shortly before
he
was to be installed. He had at least three brothers, Fr. John who served
and
died in California, Tom and Conor. He and I never met. He was an adult
when
I was either unborn or an infant but family history is important and it
would
be nice to fill in some of the blanks.
Any help will be appreciated.
Bern Connelly
