This James died by 1778.. His Estate records were filed in Pasquotank
County in 1778. I haven't sent for them . I have found so much information
in them on other's I should though.. The list of the buyers tells you a lot.
Though I haven't the Wills of any other James Casey I noticed that there are
Estate records at the Archives for another James Casey in 1866 & 1894. These
are records in North Carolina State Archives.
I am interested in your William Casey b. 1767. My ancestor is Dempsey Casey
b. 1762 in Norfolk Va. Haven't found any documentation that there were
others, but through one family letter . I know is father was b. in Ireland
and Dempsey was born the night the boat docked(by family letters, which may
or may not be correct).
Our families have all passed down the name William as their firstborn son's
name and repeated it if that son died. Only a few John . I have a John Casse
Will from 1790 which mentions son Dempsey and then his second son William.
By 1795 the only family still alive. Do you have any other information on
your William? Do you know where he was born?
Alicia
