Hello Jim

Thanks for your e-mail.

Where did it state that Mary was from in the 1851 census? Did it say
Llangendeirne. If so the parish registers for Llangendeirne parish are the
ones to be viewing. I will have a quick look for you when I'm in Carmarthen
next week. The IGI covers Llangendeirne as found below: There was not one
for a Betsy Jones, was this a pet name for her?

IGI Llangendeirne B.T's 76% from 1733-1866 christenings
Llangendeirne Salem C.M 1814-1837

I did look for a marriage for William Jones and Margaret - but there was not
one that took place in Llangendeirne parish church.

There are no indexes for Carmarthenshire census, only for Carmarthen Town,
and Llanelly Town census for 1851. All others have to be looked through.
The 1841 census does not give you an awful lot of information, it only states
name, age, occupation and asks if born in County - which will either be yes
or no. It can give you a basis to go on, and give a start, mostly to go on
and view 1851.

Therefore, the advise I give normally, is always look through the parish
registers, do you have an LDS or FHC near to you?

Get back to me as soon as you can to let me know if you have access to any of
these, speak soon

Regards
Pauline James
