Hi Cyndy,
Not it's Argonaut, The (Los Angeles County, CA) - (3/5/2005-Current)
Access is through the Godfrey Memorial Library - $35.00 a year.
http://www.godfrey.org/online_resources.htm
The resource is called Newsbank - America's Obituaries.

Have you used Google News Archives?
http://news.google.com/archivesearch
If you find anything that looks like an article you'd like, the Godfrey also
has access to this database. You'll pay for the article through Google but
the search feature is nicer on Google than on the actual database through
the Godfrey......

I show the Oakland Tribune is available these dates from various sources
I've found.....
2/21/1874 - 01/19/2003 Oakland Tribune Oakland California
would you like a search of any names?

Colleen

Subject: [CA-DEATH-INDEX] "Source date range" and "The Argonaut"

Hello all,
In the January 1, 2007, posting there is a list of newspapers
with the words "source date range" at the top of the list. What is the
list? Is it what one person has access to? Is it the holdings of a
particular library, or the library of the state of California? Where can
one access the newspapers on the list? Are they online? Are they
available for interlibrary loan on microfilm?
Also, "The Argonaut" is listed from 2005 onward. Is this a
newspaper? Does it have any connection to "The Argonaut" that was
published in San Francisco in the 1920's? I'd like to know more about
that publication, as several relatives wrote/edited it.
Thanks,
Cyndy in Ohio
