Hi Pat,

I was reading about people from Keynsham going to watch the riots a bit
back. I will have to unearth this resource and reread it.

It was in my mind, as I wrote that list of 19th-century events, that these
were the occasions, which our Bristol ancestors experienced. You are lucky
that the tale concerning your own family at this time has been passed down
to you.

Yes it's hard sometimes sifting the fact from fiction. I was really
surprised to find one of my great-grandfather's, Sydney PAYNE of Temple
Cloud was a labourer in 1881 as I'd always believed that he was a wealthy
man.

If only we'd listened more to our grandparents when we were young and
questioned them. If only ... :-)
