An article in the Indianapolis, IN paper today may be of interest to Schenck
researchers.

Ulysses P. SCHENCK, a Swiss immigrant, in 1844 built a Greek-revival home on
the Ohio River at Vevay, IN. Known as the "Hay King," he owned a fleet of
flat boats that carried hay and produce to markets up and down the Ohio and
Missippi rivers. Sadie, mother of present owner David GRIFFITH, 65 blind,
grew up in thehome. She married Clyde Griffith. David is a great-great-
nephew of Ulysses.
