I'm hoping that one day I'll be able to use the 1828 tax census and I'm
saving all the information on it. Unfortunately, I'm stuck at a more
recent time period and can't connect my folks with anyone that far back.
My Phillip SCHARF and his wife, Elisabetha WEBER were probably born in the
1860's. I know their children were born during the 1880s in Cservenka
(Tscherwenka), Bacs-Bodrog (Batschka). Phillip died in a threshing machine
accident in about 1895 and Elisabetha died in 1926 - both in Tscherwenka.
None of the descendants of their children know anything about earlier
generations. I know there were Scharfs and Webers in Tscherwenka earlier
than 1860, but I haven't heard of any source that might help me find either
of their parents or link them to anyone on the 1828 tax census. Have I
missed something? If it makes a difference in potential sources, these
folks were Lutheran, not Catholic.
Thanks for listening!
