Hi everyone,
I'm back from Scotland. What a beautiful country! I didn't do as much research as I had planned as I thought I would see the country where my ancestors were from instead. We stayed in Ayr on the west coast, in Portobello on the east coast and travelled as far north as Inveraray and as far south as Melrose with Glasgow, Edinburgh, Kilmarnock, Ardrossan, Cumnock and other places inbetween.
It was so great to meet you Alex (Hughes)! (we met accidentally at Ardrossan library). Thanks again for your site and this list.

On another note, for anyone searching ancestors that came over here to Canada from Scotland, we are FINALLY releasing the 1911 census. I received this from the Ontario Genealogical Society:
According to the National Archives website the 1911 census information will be available as soon as possible - probably sometime in August. However the questions asked can be checked at the following website: www.canada.uottawa.ca/ccri/resources. Scroll down to the 1911 schedule and the page will come up. You will probably need to zoom in to 500 in order to read the column headings.
Good luck with your searches!
Donna
