When I was researching this family for Lois I found th efollowing:-
A marriage entry for Andrew Boyd and Jean Kirwod as follows:-
Andrew Boyd married Jean Kirkwood on 27 Oct. 1798, at Beith, Ayrshire, Batch
# 7101812, serial # 11.
e first half of the 1994 IGI there are 73 entries with this Batch number.
Yet there are no entries for their children - the 6 you listed in 1998, plus
I would say another 8 children were
In the first half of the 1994 IGI there are 73 entries with this Batch
number. Yet there are no entries for their children - the 6 you listed in
1998, plus I would say another 8 children were born to them to fill the
gaps. Quite strange! With them being married in 1798 and the last know being
born in 1827.
As Lois did not say which Church this family belonged, she thought that the
children may not have been Baptised. Can any member of this group explain
why in this period, a family with 6 known children and perhaps another 8
unknown would not Baptise their children
Through this Batch number of 7101812, I was able to link this with two other
Boyd families.
The first was from the family of Robert Boyd and Elizabeth Anderson of
Irvine (Robert is given as being a sea Captain) four youngest children
In 1998 I was givne this about Robert:-
"Erected in memory of / ROBERT BOYD late Shipmaster in Irvine / who died in
1766 aged 78 years / and of ELIZABETH ANDERSON his Spouse / who died in
1786 aged 81 years / Also MARY BOYD their Daughter / who died the 15th Novr.
1804 aged 66 years
While the first 7 children were born in Irvine, there four were given as
having been born at Dunlop

for the entry in family III in Ch 60.

While no mother is listed, this entry is the same date of Christening date
for the entry in family III in Ch 60.
T11 Mary Boyd, b / /17xx ( )
- This could be the same person as T5 above. As Ann and Mary were Christened
on the same day does this raise the question if they were twins?
The second link is wiht an outline of the Boyd family from Pitcon.
O1? Robert Boyd, b / /1606 ( ), d / /1684 ( ), bu , m / /162x (church,

There were 12 other entries for Batch number C115782 which I will put at the
end of this section, as these MIGHT BE cousins or siblings to this line, as
they might have gone to the same Church in Ayr, Ayrshire. With Batch number
538230, it was the only number I found with the Boyd down to Margaret Boyd.
Does this mean that the tree came from the Wallace side of the family?
With the gap in births between Agnes and John, it would suggest that perhaps
at least two other children may have been to this couple. One in 1669 and
the other in 1671.
- The 1994 IGI for the UK has these entries WHICH MIGHT BE CONNECTED TO THIS
FAMILY (SEE LETTER CB05032 for links to ch 15, ch 5/252 & ch 5/265):-
Andrew BOYD (M)............. C: 13 Aug 1676 B: 22 Oct 1976 PROVO Ba: 7607542
21
Father: Thomas BOYD Beith, Ayr, Scotland E: 7 Jan 1977 PROVO So: 1058297
SP: 21 Jan 1977 PROVO
Andrew BOYD (M)............. C: 15 Aug 1676 B: 13 Nov 1971 LANGE Ba: 7101812

Father: Thomas BOYD Beith, Ayr, Scotland E: 29 Jan 1972 LANGE So: 1235122
SP: 8 Dec 1972 LANGE
While these last two entries do not give the mothers name, they COULD
INDICATE A LINK to this family
However more data will be need to lik all three families together.
