I have just been contacted by a cousin who has provided evidence to
reasonably connect us to George BRACKENRIDGE, ~ 4 Jun 1804 in Dalrymple
natural son of Wm, Maybole & Kath RUSSEL, Dalrymple.

Kath RUSSEL later married Wm EGLESOME in Dalrymple on 26 Dec 1817 - no kids
baptised. Her son George later named a son after his stepfather in 1844.

I have just looked through the first three EDs of Maybole 1841 - the
following families are most probably linked - they were all shoemakers. I
have tentatively assigned William, who was given as 60y in 1841, as son of
John B & Janet McMURTIE - this is just guesswork at the moment.

It would seem possible that the William who started having kids with Agnes
KERR in 1805 could well be the father of my ancestor George in 1804.

I would greatly appreciate any additions and corrections to this lot.
