Hello,
I am a Catholic and we have holy cards(some other religions have memorial
or funeral cards) that are usually given out at a funeral. They have the
name of the deceased, date of birth and death(birth optional) often where
the services and burial were held. The reason was to remember to pray for
the deceased person to help them get to heaven. The info on them is also a
boon to a genealogist if they don't have the info.
Hope this helps.
Elly
