Greetings listers,

After a winter's intensive work I have gotten the accumlated research of
several family members over the last 70 years onto the computer. Ayrshire related
surnames include Cuthbertson, Dickie, Orr, Watt, Kirkpatrick, Nairn, Andrew,
Stevenson, Dunlop, and Wylie -- see below. Parishes of Kilmaurs, Fenwick,
Stewarton, Dunlop

Inquiries are welcome concerning the descendants of the following:

First Generation: JAMES CUTHBERTSON (Maltster), died before 1809 of
Mosside, Kilmaurs, Ayrshire, Scotland

First wife: Mary Walker, married June 1739. She died early 1758.

Name of second wife, any other children, etc., unknown at present (Second
wife may be Janet Templeton from Dreghorn, married to a James Culberson from
Kilmaurs, August 1758)

Only known child of James Cuthbertson of Mosside: JAMES CUTHBERTSON of
Habbieauld (see second generation)

Margaret Cuthbertson, b. 1787, m. Alexander Orr (Torrenyard Farm Stewarton,
Ayrshire -- limited information, some desc. named Clark to Michigan ca. 1860)

David Cuthbertson, b. 1789, m. Jane Rankin (lived at Beith, descendants in
Scotland and U.S./Canada)

Alexander Cuthbertson, b. 1792, Minister in Church of Scotland at Edrom,
Berwickshire (married, no children)

John Cuthbertson, b. 1794 (died 1808)

Robert Cuthbertson, b. 1797, quarryman at Strathaven (no known family)

Hugh Cuthbertson, b. 1799, m. (1) Margaret Muir, (2) Jean Wallace, (3)
Catherine Looney (to Michigan, 1831, numerous descendants)

Jean Cuthbertson, b. 1802, m. Robert Garrett (one daughter, no further record)

Third Generation: JAMES CUTHBERTSON (1780-?) m. 1798, Margaret Shedden
(1779-1852) of Gardrum Hill Farm, Fenwick, Ayrshire, Scotland. He disappeared
(poss. lost at sea?). She died in Illinois.

Children:

James Cuthbertson, b. 1799 (disappeared/died either West Indies or India)

Margaret Cuthbertson, b. 1800, m. James Watt of Gainleech, Fenwick. (to
Illinois, 1843, numerous Nairn descendants via daughter's m. to Hugh Nairn from
Stewarton, also Kirkpatrick desc.)

Marian Cuthbertson b. 1803 (to Australia, may have m. John Stevenson in 1834
before emigrating, no known desc.)

William Cuthbertson, b. 1804, m. Janet Templeton (no desc.)

Jean Cuthbertson, b. 1807, m. William Stevenson (lived at Dunlop, then to
Illinois ca. 1844, numerous desc. in IL and KS)

John Cuthbertson, b. 1811, m. Margaret Watt Forks McMakin (to Louisiana, no
children)

ALEXANDER CUTHBERTSON, b. 1813, m. (1) Agnes Wylie, & (2) Janet Kirkwood (to
NY in 1833, on to Illinois in 1837. Numerous descendants in IL and KS)

Jeannette Cuthbertson, b. 1816 (to Australia, no known marriage or family)

Robert Cuthbertson, b. 1818, m. Janet Stevenson (to Illinois, desc. in both
IL & KS)

Mary Cuthbertson, b. 1822, m. William Wylie (both from Fenwick. To Illinois.
Numerous descendants in KS.)
