Hi
I would like to list my Taylor and Pollock ancestors. If anyone else is
researching these families, I would be very pleased to hear from them.
David Taylor born abt 1831 at Galston - no other info on David
married Agnes Pollock (whose parents were John Pollock and Elizabeth Smith)
Children were: Jean born 1855 Galston
Alexander Paron born 1856 (married Agnes Runcie
1878)
Martha born 1858
* David born 1862 (married Maggie Boyes 1883)
James born 1864
Elizabeth Smith born 1866
*David Taylor born 1862 in Kilmarnock (died 943 in Newmilns) married Maggie
Boyes in 1883 in Galston. Maggie was born 1865 to Robert Boyes and Grace
Dick. Maggie died 1929 in Galston.
Children were: Grace Dick born 1885 and died 1889
David born 1886
Robert Boyes born 1888
Agnes born 1891
* James born 1898 married **Alice Pollok (ck) 1918
in Newmilns
Grace Dick born 1901
**Alice Pollok was born 1897 in Newmilns to Thomas Pollock (born 1848-51)
and Janet Craig who were married in 1887. Janet Craig was his second wife,
and other than finding out in the 1881 census that his first wife was
"Allen" I have not been able to find out anything about the first marriage,
other than the children of the first marriage were William born around 1873,
Jane, Ellen and Thomas born abt 1881.
Thomas Pollock born around 1848-51 at Newmilns to John Pollock and Catherine
Hutchison. Thomas died 11 Apr 1904 at Newmilns
I got onto the Scotlandspeople site and searched for all Thomas Pollock's
and Pollok's and couldn't find any record of Thomas's birth, nor could I
find any marriage between John Pollock and Catherine Hutchison.
Have now got a couple of brickwalls with David Taylor and Thomas Pollock, so
any help would be appreciated.
