This information covers 2 counties. Some members of the same Hastings families give New Cumnock, Ayrshire as birthpace and some give Kirkconnel, Dumfriesshire. There are very few birth and marriage records to go on, and I have got much of the information from censuses and wills. I am sorry this email is so long, but it will need 2 or 3 generations to provide enough information. I have 3 families of Hastings and am trying to find a connection between them. Regards Sheena Family 1 ======= Generation 1 ------------------ First of all the isolated Flora Hastings, born about 1764 outside Ayrshire, married John Goudie in Ayr 25 Dec 1784 (they ran the inn at Burns Cottage). They had 7 children, one of whom Lilias Goudie married David Hastings jnr. from Family 2 in Ayr in 1840. Generation 2 ------------------ John Goudie died in infancy, buried Alloway Agnes Goudie m.
