Hello Don,
I am pleased to report there are numerous descendants of Matthew Campbell
and Mary. Our immediate families are through 2 James, b 1855 in Johnstone,
LAK, who married Mary Weatherstone from Berwickshire. This James was a
baillie of Kilmarnock. Two of his sons died in WW1 and are listed in the KMK
Memorial there. A third son, also James, emigrated c 1907 to Trinidad WI and
raised his family there. James of Trinidad had four children one daughter of
which was my mother. The other descendants are scattered around Trinidad, US
( our branch), and England.
Matthew was also the first son of John Campbell and Isabel Boyd. John and
Isabel had nine children all of whom had large families as well. Many
Campbells in the Kilmarnock area are related to this couple.
