Hi all
Could sks tell me what the differance is between a miner and a Legal Miner - this is how the occupation is listed on a 1901 census return
Also - at Scotlands People - I found the following
William Dillon - Son - 20 Legal Miner - Beith Ayr
Mathew Dillon - Son - 17 General Labourer - Beith Ayr
Robert Dillon - Son - 15 - Apprentice Baker - Kilwinning Ayr
Marg Dillon - Daughter 9 - Scholar - Kilwinning Ayr
Mary Dillon - daughter 7 - Scholar - Kilwinning Ayr
GROS DATA is 599/00 009/060
Why cant I get it to bring up a previous page where the parents should be listed - They are John & Elizabeth Dillon ages would be abt 44 years - can any one offer a suggestion please - when I do a search for their names - there are no results - but I do know that they were still living at the time.
