Into December and only five obits left.
No. 50 December
The Obit of Allan Paterson a provident man, late burgess of Ayr who died 4
December 1519 and his cousins Agnes Nicholson and Agnes Wilsone, who resigned
six shillings and eightpence of yearly rent, money of Scotland, in the hands
of Alexander Boyman, bailie of the said burgh for the time being, by a penny,
on 6th May 1511, to be annually levied from the whole and entire tenement
with the pertinenets lying in the foresaid burgh, between the tenement of
Arthur Inglish on the south part, on the one, and the tenement of the late
John White on the north parts, on the other parts, for a perpetual obit to be
annually celebrated.................... These were done on the ground of the
said tenement at the tenth hour before mid-day or there about, 6 May 1511.
Present there discreet men, Alexander Johnsone, Robert Wylie, Rolland
Kennedy, Hugh Hewsone, Sir Robert Gamyll, Sir Jasper Rolland, and Sir John
Fair, chaplains, with divers others. Sir William Red, notary to the premises.
No. 51 December
The Obit of John Wilsone and Agnes Balze his spouse, which John died the 14th
December 1525. After the death of the same John, the said Agnes Balze for
the welfare of her soul, and the said late John her spouse, also moved with
piety for the souls of all the faithful deceased founded an anniversay
annually and for perpetual celebration..................the said Agnes has
given, in pure alms, and in perpetuity has bequeathed six shillings, money of
Scotland of yearly revenue to be annually levied and taken at two yearly
terms.....by equal portions, from the north booth of the house before her
tenement which belongs to herself hereditarily lying in the burgh of Ayr,
between the tenement of the late Thomas Johnsone on the one, and the tenement
of the late William Wiseman on the other parts, and failing payment of the
said yearly revenue from the foresaid booth in terms of the said Agnes, hath
founded the same annuity of six shillings from all and whole her tenement
foresaid, fore and back, annually to be levied..........which annual revenue
the said Agnes has purely and simply resigned into the hands of Alexander
Lokert, one of the bailies of Ayr in favour of the said choristers, by a
penny, which resignation being so made the said bailie gave state and sasine
and real possession of the said six shillings of yearly revenue
.............. These were done upon the ground of the said tenement on 12th
December 1525, before these witnesses, John Mure, John Dalrumple, John Laing,
burgess of Ayr, John Simsone, Androi McCubene and John Simsone. Stephen
