"Fenwick Jany 24th 1839

The united assoceate Session met and was Constituted by the Rev William Orr
Moderator with praise and prayer and Succeded in the Same Excercies by David
Dunlop were present along with them John Taylor John Dunlop Alexr Watt John
& Alexr Gemmill James & William Young James Boyd and James Dunlop the
Committee appointed to Converse with James Gemmill and his wife Reported
that they had Conversed with them and they have ordered them to apear before
the Session this day, Compeared James Gemmill and his wife and acknowledged
themselves Guilty of antinuptional fornication the Session ordered them to
apear before the Congregation on Sabbath first and be Rebucked for the Sin
of which they have acknowledged themselves guilty appointed Alexd Watt and
Alexd Gemmill along with the moderator a Committee to Converse with them
after there apearance Entred on the Consideration of Robert Carruthers Case
and as there apeared Some Difficulty in the Case a motion was made and
Seconded and agreed to that the Session Delay this Case untill next monthly
meetting of Session and that Robert be warned to atend Said meetting James
Young to warn him the Session agreed that a Collection be made on the first
Sabbath of Feby for the united assoceate Congregation of Kilwining and that
the ordenance of the lords Supper be observed in this Congregation on the
4th Sabbath of Feby as the quarterly Sacrament
