My family interest in the Ayrshire area is the Youngs. According to the
census, James and Isabella Young were farming Mainholm Farm in 1851.
There is a William Young who died in 1850 or 1851, and according to the
Scottish Wills site, he was farmer at Holmston, which is very close to
Mainholm. I am hoping they are father and son. Does anyone know if
farm records exist that might tell me that? Would both farms belong to
the same land owner? How about Highfield and Shields Farms? I have
Young family members farming at those in later years.
Any information would be wonderful!
