So, here's my ignorance of Scottish Church organization. Who were the
"mamagers", as distinct from the Elders? Why would they be handling church
monies separately?

"Fenwick July 10th 1837
The united assoceiate Session met and was Constiuted by the Rev William Orr
moderator with praise and prayer and was Succeded in the Same Excercies by
James Young were present along with them Thomas Taylor Alexander Watt Robert
Lindsay John Gemmil William Young John Clachan James Dunlop Alexd Gemmil
James Boyd and Andrew Pecken the Session agreed to hear the Report of the
Committee appointed to make further enquiry into John Wallace Case and from
there report and the form that the business has taken with the good feiling
that now appears among Some of the parties the Session proceded to give
there opinion whether the Censure Shall be private pr publick but from John
Wallace being absent from indisposition delayed giving Judgement untill a
futur meetting of Session when he is Expected to be present the Session
entered on the Consideration of the poors Roll agreed that from the low
state of the funds and as the Session had lent money to the Managers of this
Congregation Some time ago appointed Thomas Taylor Alexd Watt and James Boyd
a Committee to apply to the managers for the Sum of Three pounds Sterling to
Supply the present emergencies
Closed with prayer"
