"Fenwick April 27th 1837

The united assoceate Session met in the Session house and was Constiuted by
the Rev William Orr moderator with praise and prayer and was Succeded in the
Same Exerise by Thomas Taylor were present along with them John Taylor David
Dunlop Alexd Watt Robert Lindsay John Gemmil James Young William Young John
Clachan James Dunlop and Andrew Pecken Entered on the Consideration of John
Wallace Case and agreed to hear the Report of the Committee appointed to
make enquirey into this Case and after some Conversation on the Case the
Session agreed to Reappoint the Committee to viz Alexd Watt James Young and
John Gemmil along with moderator to make farther enquirey in this case and
Report to the Session The Session are happy to learn that James Boyd who was
Elected to the office of Eldership has now Come forward voluntarly and is
willing to accept of the office of an Elder in this Congregation the
moderator proceded according to the Rules of the Church to put a few
questions to him of his Spiritual Knowledge and the Session Expressed
themselfs Satisfied with his answers and agreed that his Edict Shall be
Served in this Congregation on Sabbath the 30th day of this month on any of
the other ton persons Elected if they Come forward agreed that the Session
meet on the 12 day of May to Receve the Return of the Edict of James Boyd
and to transact the ordinary business of the Session appointed Alexd Watt
and John Gemmil a Committee to Converse with Matthew Gemmil as to his State
of mind as to his accepting of the office of an Elder in this Congregation
and Report to the Session The Session appointed ordenance or the lords
Supper to be Dispenced in this Congregation on the first Sabbath of June
agreed to hear the opinion of members of Session regarding the State of
feeling that is in the Congregation Respecting the mode observed in Sitting
Down to the ordenance of the lords Supper all at once the Session are happy
to find that a good feeling Generely Subsists in the Congregation to the
mode latly Adopted but to do away all objections the Session agreed that the
moderator make intamation to the Congregation that if any have objections to
lodge them with the Elders of there Respective quarters Granted Certificates
to Thomas and James Love Moorend
