I too have relatives who lived in Tongue Row, but it is described on
certificates as being in the village of Kerse. All I have is the following:
Kerse was a small, short-lived, mining hamlet owned by the Dalmellington
Ironworks. Tongue Row and Kerse were built to house miners at the Kerse
ironstone mines on the slopes of Bowhill just outside Patna. Kerse was a
village of only 20 houses but had a store and a school. It was abandoned in
the 1920's when the population was moved to new houses at Polnessan. It is
now abandoned and derelict.
If anyone has anything else I'd be grateful for it.
