Hi Karen,
I think we all have those ancestors for some reason or another are not
in the OPRs, national census records that of use to genealogists started
in 1841 and were every 10 years till 1901 which has just become
available. They have been filmed by the LDS church and you can get the
film numbers from their site, familyorigins.org
All parishes in Scotland were numbered and you will probably need that
number, if you have trouble finding it let me know and I can look it up
for you,
